1960s Girls's Power!
Realizing who I am and where I belong to. The theme “ 1960s Girl's Power” explore the concept of gender and identity. Inspired by my mother who is the brave and liberty in the 1960s Taiwanese female society. All the designs, including research, textiles, and packaging, are using the childish and graffiti style to present. The story “1960s Girl's Power” is about the lifestyle of Taiwanese female compared to the Western female in the 1960s. Research what is their everyday life and using interesting drawing to show how courageous are they.
Childish, playful, and carefree-meets-cool design are the key elements to my designed philosophy. Using the materials from the children toys such as the doll’s wig, toy’s beads, and the clay to do the mix-media with the contemporary embroidery technic together.
